BITS OF THIS AND THAT

Yup, still inspired I am...got home from New Brunswick and I'm just a stitchin queen. First off I will share the rest of the projects that I completed at my sisters.  This is my cute little fat quarter apron . wendy took me to this little quilt shop that had some of the cutest fabrics that I just could not pass up..I know , hard to believe, eh! ha ha

and next..... i made this cute little bag , pattern from Wendy out of an old Better Homes & Gardens Quilt book I believe

OK...I GUESS YOU WON'T BE SEEING THAT LITTLE BAG. CANNOT FIND THE PICTURE RIGHT NOW...
But these cute little granny squares you see here are  what my 2 1/2 inch strips will be turned into in this next year! I love them! This is a few that Wendy & I did up. Cute, huh?

OK...now for my completed projects since coming home. and the best of it is that some of them have been on my to do list for quite some time

This was a connecting threads kit that a friend from our guild gave me a few years back. With it being fall colours I thought i would do it up.the table topper is called Jacob bean, but I think I will call it the gift that keeps on giving because I am going to donate it to our churchs christmas banquet to give as a door prize. I quite like it but I think it would make a nce door prize too.

These are two  little projects that i made for our grandchildren out of a kit that I recieved two years ago at a fall retreat...I actually stretched it into three projects...The little jack-o-lantern wall hanger was made twice...I can hardly give one to one family and not the other, right? So the Rob's girls got the table runer and Jen's and Tamm's boys got the wall hanging. I actually think that there might be a fourth one in the works cause I wouldn't mind one for my door too! hmmm wonder how long it wil be before I get one??

I found it...my little bag and the make-up bag i made for my sister Pam...Hope to make a few more of these as well...cute liitle gifts, don't you think?

Well fowl supper tomorrow nite...big and busy day for me. Hope to check back in next week.

My East Coast Retreat!

I tell you, I have done more in two weeks with my sister than I have done all year. Are you ready to see everything; cause there is lots! Well lots for me!

First off you will notice me and I say my Janome, cause it was mine the entire 2 weeks....I was a little worried about sewing on a different machine but it was like it was mine in no time!

From Miss Rosie's book a schnibbles for me too
Can you see the X's , well the O's were not far behind...Once on a roll there was no stopping Wendy! They have turned into wonderful throw cushions...you can go to my sisters blog and check them out if u like. www.wendy-itiswhatitis.blogspot.ca./

Dinner dates with friends are always fun and if you are really lucky you even get to see some Show & Tell. Wendy's "Schnibble" friend Sue showed us her cute little sewing accessories tote. Of course that just needed to find its way home in my suitcase too..Not hers but my finished one. Thank-you Sue for the loan of your pattern and tote. I absolutely love mine!  The little fold over organizer pattern came from my sister Wendy and that too I just love and find oh so useful. thanks for that pattern, Sis!

Now this cute little case I found in one of Wendy's books one morning while sippin coffee and enjoying the view. All made from scrap wool but not just any wool ...the gold is taken from a very favorite jacket of Mom's. Sister Pam made a pair of slippers using bits of this wool as well and Wendy & I hope to make a fall table topper one day with the remnents. Now back to the view....I tell you, it's a wonder that I even got any sewing done cause I could of just sat and enjoyed the water, birds and the view all day long...

yup...six months since I have posted a darn thing on my blog. Call it busy, call it lazy, call it excuses, I really don't know! But I have had a very busy 1/2 year.

Early spring what we thought was going to be a golf get-away with friends came to a very sad ending as we were called home to Rocky's Mom's health failing. With-in 3 days of our return we quietly said our goodbyes to her. She nows rests in peace with my Mom...a very hard time for Rocky and I and our children. Saying good-bye to our Mom's and Grandma's in such a short while was not something we had anticipated this past year. But we will cherish those memories we have forever.

A missed trip out to New Brunswick at that time too was rescheduled this fall. I'm nicely home from there with memories I will cherish for ever. Here are a few snaps of some of the things my sisters and brother and I did while being at the Lake house with Wendy & Georges. The next post I will share with you some of the things Wendy & I did during our week alone there

A great day on the beach collecting sea shells for sister Pam..."Blustery day, you say?" but really it wasn't so bad and it actually added a new little twist to walkin the beaches.

And all to quickly it was time to say good-bye to Pam and Gary...  oh ,but the memories.

OK...now I'm ready for spring!

Not sure if you remember or not but in December I completed a new throw for our living room...It was titled " Stella does Sping" have been snuggling under it all winter. I did have some scraps calling my name from that project and decided to make a table runner. Now that spring is officially here I have placed it on our coffee table.... but here in Saskatchewan that is the only signs I see of spring. I am so ready for the warm sunshine and the plants to be peeking through the ground... Please Please people if you are hogging all the sunshine it's time to surrender some of it to us! LOL

OOOOPS...

Told you I wasn't in the groove yet....forgot to post about the pictures
The sink full of oranges and grapefruit were picked off the trees daily. I must say I sure miss that!
The cacti were beautiful in the park and all starting to bloom. The prickly pear and bogenvalia(sp) are probably my favorite.
And since I'm posting....here are a few more! LOL
Little golfing , little fun and a little sightseeing ( Hoover Dam )

No Quilt Shop Hoppin for me

But I did do some State and Prov. hoppin. Had a great time in Arizona but I feel like I have been going in circles since I returned home...why is that??
It seems to happen to me everytime I go away, but I best back into the groove. Host our Quilt Guild's Potluck here on Saturday and a neigbouring town has a quilt show from Thurs-Fri this week...that should help!
Thought I would share a few Arizona pictures since I have nothing to offer up in the fabric and threads department! ha ha

Yummmm Yummmm....Ribs!

As you can see on Kohens plate we cut the ribs off the bone for the boys....When Kayd was done his supper he asked if he could have another rib, but under one condition! He got to eat it like Daddy & Grandpa! Boy did he enjoy them!

Our wee ones are growing up so fast!

And we are feeling so blessed to be able to a part of their days.....our two daughters were home with their families over the christmas holidays and we traveled to Medicine Hat to break in the New Year with our son and his family

Hibernating

that's what the boys and I did while grandpa had to clear the snow! and oh so cold...-38 that morning

How many is too many???

I keep asking myself that but I keep making more....bags and totes that is! Here is my latest
This latest bag is call a "Jelly Bag" .....so easy to make! If you don't have a Jelly roll simply cut your own...17 strips and what a great way to use up some of your stash! Only this bag was not made of leftover stash!
While on one of our many trips to Ontario to visit Mom my sister and I would sometimes slip away for a few short hours and of course it was always to the Quilt Shops. We found these prints and the local quilt shop in town and the pattern came from a quilt shop across the border. Bunny Hill Designs..."Jelly Bags"....#1004
