Merry christmas

Twas a week or so before christmas and the gibneys were ready... bound for alberta with a car packed to the brim ...the grandchildren excited for christmas to begin. Santa and concerts and playschool parties to see, would keep rocky and I bouncing from family tree to family tree. The joy in the hearts of our grandchildren were many and we could see in their faces that christmas would be Merry.  Hows that for a little Dr. Suess?  And oh how it was!

We had such a wondberful time with our family this past two weeks and we will treasure all the christmas festivities that we were able to share with them. Feeling truly blessed as these holidays come to an endwe will be heading home and then preparing for out flight back to arizona. I would just like to take this time to wish all other fellow bloggers a very merry christmas and many wonderful blessings in 2015

December...

Our christmas gift to one an other.... from a fifth wheel to a park model. Yeah! I must say we are quite excited about this, but we mustn't get too terribly excited. We will not take posession until first week of april. Heading back down to phoenix on january 4th.  But before that I will be teaching a schnibbles class to our quilt quild, must say im wishing I was taking the class not teaching. A teacher, I'm not!

Harvey

For those of you who dont know my maiden name is "Harvey"....and of course I was thrilled when Carrie designed this quilt.  It's been a crazy busy fall but I do intend to get this October scnibbles done. As you can see I will definately be late with it, but like the saying goes, "better late than never", right?  Well step 1 is complete! I decided today that because Miss Carrie has designed this quilt and my Zen collection was a gift from her it would be very fitting to use this fabric. Very excited even if I'm only at step 1. Hopefully it wont be too terribly long before I post some progress

Bless the flowers and the birds and the wee ones we love....

Flowers whisper beauty to the world and birds sing because they have a song.....

Time to do some building with Papa...Have to have a place for those birdies to sleep when they come to Nanny and Papa's too.

then  a little break and time to watch the football game...

I seen an idea on pinterest when you have to remove a tree from your yard...Keep the trunk about 6 feet high and make a little condo of birdhouses and place on top of it. We are quite excited as you can imagine the children are too, to see what birds will come and nest in our little houses...

FAMILY...a gathering of those we love, hand chosen from above

Granddaughters....bringing such joy y

Its schnibble time again

What a great way to start off another new year of schnibbling..... Carries cute little whit takes the cake. I love that three options were made available from this tiny cute little pattern. I am quite sure I will be doing the other 2 as I so love flying geese.
Was a little afraid of not being able to complete it in time as I made a trip to ontario for 10 days and then off to alberta for 8 days....had a great time and will share some pictures of my trip soon

Watch out now....I'm on a roll

Actually just kidding....but I did want to share with you the quilt I hand delivered to my daughter today. I won this zen sphere material at the same time tammy decided to change the colors up in her living room. And yes, they just happen to be the same colours so why not make her a quilt, or should I say blanket, tammy? lOL

Ayos

Not sure how many schnibbles I took part in but I sure did love taking part in it.... and of course going to the parade every month was the best....

Well here are mine and I can't, promise they are  in order. Lol

Look what I have...

A very beautiful Amulet bag made by a special new friend...
Her work totally amazes me. After meeting each other she designed this especially for me with my love of quilting in mind. Didn't she do an absolutely amazing job. I love it and I can't wait to wear it. Just a tad to gorgeous to just be wearing any day,

So the wedding we have to attend end of October will be perfect.

I wish she had a Blog that I could direct you to so that you could see all of her work.  hmmm maybe I just may have to talk her into that. It is so worth the view, believe me!

Ready for a get-a-way

Finally done!   The "Holiday in London Duffle Bag" by Bari J.
Another pattern I just could not resist getting while at the "Arizona Quilt Show"
But I tell you...I had no idea what I was getting into when I made that purchase. Two friends and myself decided we were gonna tackle this bag together one week-end.
Well let me tell you.... It isn't called a weekender bag for nothing...it took the whole week-end to get it done! But I do love the end result and look forward to taking it on my road trip to Medicine hat next week-end. Wish I had a picture of the three of us together but you will have to wait on that one!

Yup....bought this one there too. And I absolutely love it. I will definately be making more of this one! I'm all ready for thanksgiving now....bring on the Turkey! and I was also able to use up some of my batiks from the
batik fat quarter club I belong too

And I can not just sew the day away...I had apples calling from the tree and a girlfriends calling me too...this is the end result, as well as some applesauce that has already made its way to the freezer

Here it is....
My August Schnibbles. top done but that is all I have done and I was lucky to get that done in time. Well actually I was not on time but because of the long Labor day week-end they extended it three days. Lucky for me :)
Oh ya and another months worth of batiks used up in this one too!

All in all, I must say it's been a busy week since being home from the lake and I don't think it is likely to slow down!

Olivia's Garden

Did I have a great day or did I have a great day.... I wasn't so sure that I would enjoy it, but I headed off to the Arizona Quilt Show in Mesa , all alone.

Of course I was very sad that my sister Wendy had already left and I could not get a .hold of the few quilty friends that I had made since being in Arizona. Rocky had agreed to take me and told me to take the time I needed and he would be outside in the park waiting for me. Well little did I know that I could of spent the entire day there but I'm pretty sure by then my ride would not of been waiting for me.

The first vendor I stopped at was "Red Bucket List" ...I fell in love with everything she had in her store. Designer Michelle Hollis was such a sweetheart and the two of us could of quilt talked all day but I really felt it a little rude on my part to hog too much of her. After visiting for quite some time and of course finding many patterns, kits and fabrics to purchase she looked at me and said, "you must be Canadian" of course proudly I answered yes and she said I just knew it...you are so sweet! Now doesn't that just make a person's day?

Well back to my title of my blog today....
While browsing and enjoying all of Michelle's patterns I came across this Livee's Garden. Of course we did have to do a little grandma bragging about our Olivia's
Once home in the spring I told my 3 year old granddaughter Olivia that Nanny was going to make her a new quilt and I would be sending some sample fabric in the mail to her to see if she liked it and of course make sure it would match in her big girl room. I was soon busy stitching away and was able to give Olivia her quilt when she came out to visit at Father Day
